Chloé

One of my faves for sure! I love the mix of feminine and masculine looks, high waist of course with thin belts, and the mix of textures and colors. The neutrals and especially beiges have been my color palette for a long time now but I also crave more bold colors. Hannah MacGibbon was obsessed with snakeskin and I am too. The lines are simple and beautiful, the hair is fresh and natural. Sophisticated. Amazing. I love it.

Balmain

Interesting runway for Balmain which switched from the glam rock punk looks to the seventies inspiration. Christophe Decarnin definitely hangs on the tight slim cigarette pants, and adds beautiful slimming mid-caf booties. The looks are rich and feminine with all the amazing broderies, and also low waisted without belts. I love the details on each piece and the flattering silhouettes.

Kenzo

Antonio Marras made a beautiful collection with a lot of patterns and patchworks, which is a signature piece for the brand. He apparently was inspired by the mexican great artist Frida Kahlo and the result is flowy, bohemian, long colorful dresses.

Stella McCartney

I love the Stella esthetics in general and this season I am excited again. I love the way she works the simplicity, the knits and the sheers, the ample and tight lines. The polka dots are fun and I love the way she spread them on the garments. This is the classic elegance that would make anyone look fantastic wearing her looks.

Barbara Bui

Her looks remind me a bit of Burberry’s FW10’s runway. I keep loving the aviator style, the shearling and big collars, the neutral colors and the cuffs everywhere. I love the leather always, the tight almost leggin pants forever and the fierce look most definitely. The structure and sophistication are beautiful and successful in this collection.

Matthew Williamson

Fashion Week is such an exciting moment and I definitely found a lot of wonderful creativity in London and Milan. I want to first talk about Matthew Williamson because I would wear pretty much everything he designed for this next season. He found a way to make very wearable garments that you can pair and mix as much as you want. I love the fact that the looks are extra feminine and urban sexy.

Dolce & Gabbana

I loved this collection very much as well. I love the fitted silhouettes, the colors taken to another level with the mix of the prints. I love the fun, the girliness of the looks and the play of texture and prints.

Burberry Prorsum

I was quite surprised by Christopher Bailey for this season. It is so different from what I was used to but why not? The coats are of course very present, but often take another shape than the classic trench coat. He shifts away from the oldest roots of the Maison and finds inspiration in the 60’s. I’m not a huge fan of the sixties but I do like some of the garments. A cow hat appeared very often on the looks of women and men and I don’t find it wearable at all.

Versace

The looks were cute, feminine and graphic at Versace. I’ve always love the clean graphic lines and I really like the result. The furry scarf is just adorable, I would totally wear it. The white dress is stunning as well.

Gucci

I can definitely recognise Gucci and it’s luxurious, almost overwhelming italian style. The red dress is one of the most amazing dresses. The colors are rich and deep, the fabrics are just as luxurious. I love the blue python blazer so much!

Etro

Etro shows a beautiful collection and, just like with Matthew Williamson, I can for sure see myself wear most of the pieces. I love the socks that give this négligé look, and I love the mix of color and texture that keep me excited. There are some bright tones here and there but always nuanced by the neutral colors. To me this collection really answered the needs of a young, working and fashion forward woman.

For this post, I want to share about my haidresser in Paris

(I mean everytime I am in Paris and I need a haircut). I met Lattha about 2 years ago when my cousin advised me to get a haircut from him because she said he was really talented. I didn’t really like the place he worked before but he definitely became my hairdresser after the first time seeing him. He is amazing and I was sad to have to find another hairdresser in California when I left about a year ago. Anyway! my family kept coming to him and my mom let me know that Lattha just had opened his own hair salon before I arrived to Paris 12 days ago…

Well, this was just amazingly perfect because I desperately needed a new haircut! So here I was, 4 days ago, walking in the 14th district of Paris looking for his hair salon. His boutique is located on the 14 Rue des Gobelins, a small, quiet street, perpendicular to the Avenue des Gobelins, at the métro Porte D’Italie. I instantly loved the cosy, relaxed and trendy look of the place. I could tell he put his heart into the decoration and feel of his salon, it looked great and I couldn’t wait to say hi to Lattha. It had been a while since I had seen him. He asked me right away if I wanted a little café before we start and of course (at 10 in the morning…) I said: yes! The delicious Nespresso café and cookies on an adorable plate put me in a good mood. He then took care of me, washing my hair, seeing what I wanted for a haircut, cutting it and drying it while having the conversations we used to, took about 40 min. And what a pleasant 40 min. I have always left his place feeling like a superstar… And this time, I got tempted by a manucure and I stayed a bit longer The lady (I would guess his sister or cousin) did a great job as well, very professional and gentle with my hands. This added service was a great surprise! I stayed about an hour and a half and recommend everyone looking for a great experience and and amazing haidresser to go see Lattha as soon as possible!! xx

All right! Paris Fashion Week is happening now and I wanted to share about this french brand Balmain. I’ve really liked what Christophe Decarnin has been creating for years now; he keeps a very fierce, young, rock’n'roll touch to everything he puts out, even to the point where it can be ostentatious… But I love the sparkles so I don’t care! He likes to go ‘full board’ with his concepts. Anyway, this collection is so true to the brand as he goes back to the basic ‘grunge’ style he cherishes… And it works sooo well! The shiny mettalic pants and studded leather biker jackets are also found in the Burberry collection. I love the rock’n'roll feel with the booties, the leather, the tees and the bright colors. We are ‘ready to roll’ in a fierce, fast, crazy world!! Ready for anything to happen, catastrophy included? Maybe not…

The Fashion Week jumped to London and I like that! Here is a great collection; Burberry Prorsum, so fresh and rock’n'roll at the same time. I love the pop of fluorescent colors here and there thought details like the belts and purses. I’m a huge fan of leather in general so I really appreciate the effort and focus made on this fantastic looking material! I love the tight pants and cute bikers jackets; the fierce look is definetly present once again! The studs and spikes at the end of the show are pretty daring but I love them too! So rock’n'roll but soooo feminine, just the way I like it!! Hope you love it too!

I really wanted to post about Anna Sui’s collection! Usually, I am not so in love with what she does but, this season, I really find that everything is stunning and so filled with Spirit! Love the colors, the patterns, the sheerness, the knitting, the details, the fun, the boots; eveything is really 70’s but so modern at the same time. What do you darlings think? Love it? not so much? I hope to hear from you

Time for Runway shows! I love this collection!!The two designers really did a great job and I would totally wear their style: bourgeois x fluorescent x sheer. I find an “electrical” feminity to their line, and of course the neutral tones only make it better! Hey ladies! I’ve been away this past week… Forgive me! My parents are in town (from France) and I had very little time to do what I got to do. Anyway, while I was surfing on the web this morning, I came accross this new Designer Hakan Yldirim from turkey, and shame on me for not noticing him a couple month ago during the fashion week reviews! He won the 220 000 euros grant for the price of “Young Fashion Creation” in France. This contest is open to all countries and held by the Ministry of Culture, Pierre Bergé, LVMH, as well as Gucci Group. Amongst previous winners of this grant, there was Gareth Pugh (in 2008), Bruno Pieters (in 2007), Natalia Brilli (in 2006), and Felipe Oliveira Baptista (in 2005).

39-year-old, Hakaan is not a complete stranger in the fashion industry. His last fahion show in London in February, already had provoked the enthusiasm of the public, where Carine Roitfeld (editor in chief of french Vogue), sitting in the front row already appeared. Models like Natalia Vodianova and Mariacarla Boscono, worn its autumn and winter collection 2010-2011 with style. The Turkish creator also benefits from the support of the famous fashion photographer Mert Alas.

Hakan won the heart of  Carine Roitfeld (forewoman of the jury this year) with a collection made of structured lines, luxurious materials and radically sexy spirit. Others nominated were Mark Fast, Francesco Scognamiglio, Bouchra Jarrar, Calla Haynes and Alexandre Vauthier.

Bravo to Hakan!!!
